introduced and used at school. It is an opportunity for parents / caregivers to work
supportively with their children to establish good work habits beyond the classroom.
Purposes
- To reinforce previously learned concepts.

- To develop independence in children's own learning and research skills.
- To further links between home and school.
Guidelines
- Religious Education will be part of homework for children in all areas of the school.
- Daily reading at home will be encouraged in all classes. In the junior school, homework
will be mainly reading to or by the child.
- As children progress, homework tasks will include spelling, basic mathematical
facts, personal reading and activities from other curriculum
areas.
- All children will have homework from Monday to Thursday.
- It is the teachers' responsibility to set homework and provide children with feedback
The supervision of homework is the responsibility of parents and caregivers.
Conclusion
