UNIFORM POLICY
Rationale
The wearing of a school uniform helps to develop a sense of pride and belonging to St.
Anne's School, provides equity and promotes the school's identity.
Purposes
- To maintain a standard of dress.
- To encourage children to take pride in their school.
- To encourage children to take pride in themselves.
Guidelines
- All children attending St. Anne's are expected to wear, at all times, the correct
uniform as stated in the school prospectus.
- Summer and winter uniform periods will be reviewed annually by the principal and
parents.
- A transition period from one season to another may be implemented at the discretion of
the principal.
- There will be no deviation from the school uniform without the permission of the
Principal.
- Parents will be notified if an individuals deviation from the uniform is persistent.
- Long hair is to be tied back using dark blue or black hair ties.
- School sun hats must be worn when children are outdoors during the summer season.
- Reference should be made to Policy on Wearing of Sacred Adornments / Jewellery.
Conclusion
Uniform, worn with pride, will give the children a sense of belonging and self-esteem.
